Dirk J. Struik (1894-2000) var en nederlandsk-amerikansk matematiker og forfatter kjent for sitt arbeid innen marxistisk økonomi og matematikkens historie. Han underviste ved MIT i over 40 år og skrev bøker som "A Concise History of Mathematics" og "Marxism and the Mathematical Dialectic". Struik var også en aktiv samfunnsaktivist og engasjerte seg i sosiale rettferdighetskamper. Hans lidenskap for både matematikk og rettferdighet gjenspeiles i hans verk og virke.
