Johan Galtung, født i 1930, er en norsk sosiolog og grunnlegger av freds- og konfliktstudier som akademisk disiplin. Han er kjent for å ha utviklet teorier om strukturell vold og konflikthåndtering. Galtung har vært aktiv som forsker, foreleser og rådgiver innen fredsarbeid over hele verden, og har mottatt flere internasjonale priser for sitt bidrag til fredsbygging.
